Spotlight on our Producers.

Rippa Dorii - Ribero Del Duero

Throughout February we are welcoming you to the world of Ribero Del Duero. Located in the Northern Plateau within the autonomous community of Castile y León, with dry summers, long harsh winters and low rainfall resulting in grapes of extraordinary quality. Small in size with thick skins that have benefited from an optimal slow and late ripening period.

In all our venues you can try two producers from Ribero Del Duero, Rippa Dorii and Bodegas Felix Callejo.

WHAT IS RIPPA DORII?

Two wineries and a river.

Rippa Dorii is an Ontañón Family project in Ribera del Duero. Their vineyards are located in the Fuentecén area, in the heart of the Ribera region, bathed by the Duero and its tributary the Riaza river. Here altitudes reach over 900 metres and the climate is harsh, with irregular rain, uncertain frosts, and short and extremely hot summers.

Their Ribera del Duero wines are produced solely from the Tempranillo grape, also known in the region as Tinto Fino or Tinta del Pais.

Rippa Dorii -Ribera del Duero in its original, ancestral Latin form – represents a new way of experiencing the wines of Castile in their deepest essence, the historical origins of a remote winemaking tradition, of farmlands and innovation, of frugal soils and stubborn blue skies, which ever since the Middle Ages is recognised in the qualities of its wines bathed by the Duero / Flumen Dorii, as the drive shaft of its crops, the backbone of the birth of a way of expressing viticulture, its wine landscapes, of bread, pine woods and its experiences. The Duero, the pilgrims’ route of the Camino de Santiago, the crossroads of civilisations, gateway to the Americas.

Fine red wines from the Ribera del Duero and white wines with the pure, essential character of Rueda. Rippa Dorii. Rueda and Ribera. Ribera, Rueda and Duero. Tempranillo and Verdejo.
